Pultrusion is an automatic continuous manufacturing process for the production of various composite profiles. In this manufacturing process, the reinforcement material, glass roving is impregnated into a resin system and then it is pulled into a heated die with a specific shape and dimensions. The shape and dimensions of the die define the shape of the profile. The process of polymerization occurs for a very short period through the length of the die. The die is heated at high temperatures with different temperature zones. The process is continuous and thus the profiles can be cut to the desired length.
The composition of the pultruded profile is
- reinforcement (direct glass roving, glass mat and/or glass fabric
- resin system (polyester, epoxy, or vinyl ester)
Pultruded profiles can be in-house machined according to a technical drawing with given quotes and tolerances.
Pultruded profiles have various high-performance properties such as:
- Stable cross dimensions along the entire length of the profile
- Great axial strength
- Corrosion resistance
- High module of elasticity
- Minimum thermal expansion
- Great specific strength
Filament winding is a manufacturing technology used for producing cylinders. The production process involves winding impregnated glass filaments into an epoxy resin system under tension over a rotating mandrel. The mandrel rotates around Axis X while a delivery eye is on Axis Y, leading the glass yard in the desired pattern or angle to the rotational axis. The properties of the final product mainly depend on the wind angle. The winding process is strongly controlled according to a previously created CNC program. The yard is winding around the mandrel until the desired thickness is reached. Than the cylinder is heated in thermo-furnace under controlled circumstances.
The final product has excellent strength and mechanical properties, thermos-insulation properties (up to 180C), and electro-insulation properties. The specific properties depending on the resin system, type of roving, and the wind angle.
Filament Winding tubes and cylinders can be in-house machined according to a technical drawing with given quotes and tolerances.
Filament Winding tubes and cylinders are used in high-performance applications where the thermal-insulation, electrical-insulation, and mechanical properties are the most important.
Winding tubes is a process of production of composite tubes from prepreg. The prepreg is winded on a steel mandrel that provides the inner diameter of the tubes. The winding is processed on winding machines with strongly controlled parameters such as temperature, pressure, and winding speed. The tube is winded to the desired thickness and than is cured in the furnace with a strongly controlled temperature diagram.
Composite tubes have great mechanical, electrical insulation, and thermal insulation properties. All composite sheets are used in high-performance applications.
The composite tubes are used for further mechanical processing to the final part according to a technical drawing.
The composite tubes are produced with B, F, and H temperature classes, insulating up to 180C.
Types of composite sheets that we produce are:
- Epoxy Glass
- Paper Phenol
- Cotton Phenol
Having in-house tube winding machines provide cost-effective, economic solutions with very short delivery times.
Pressing is a process for composite sheet production. In-house, available are tree presses with different formats. Rigid composite sheets are produced from our prepregs (epoxy glass, cotton phenol, paper phenol). The prepreg is cut from the roll and set into layers inside the press. The number of layers of prepreg depends on the thickness of the sheet that is requested. Under controlled high pressure and controlled temperature, the composite sheet is produced. Composite sheets have great mechanical, electrical insulation, and thermal insulation properties. All composite sheets are used in high-performance applications.

Continuous technology for prepreg production. Impregnation is a process of continuous application of resin system (epoxy, phenol. and other system additives) on the base (glass fiber, cotton cloth, or paper).
The composed material, reinforced with a resin system enters an impregnation tunnel, where temperatures, speed, percentage of resin, phase of polymerization, and percentage of resin flow are strongly controlled. Under high temperatures, the process of polymerization is enabled (a mutual bonding between monomer units into a semi-final product called prepreg).
Different prepregs are used in high-performance applications where mechanical properties and weight are the most important. The properties of the prepreg vary, depending on their composition. We produce epoxy glass, cotton phenol, and paper phenol prepregs, that are used for further technological processes in the production of rigid composite materials.
The in-house impregnation process provides more economic final products and shorter delivery times.
Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) of our materials and parts are essential components. At Laminati Kom, we trust in the importance of ensuring the highest quality of composite materials and machined parts for our customers. Our QA/QC processes involve rigorous inspections, testing, and analysis of the composite parts to ensure that they are of the highest quality and are capable of meeting the requirements of our customers.
